Actually it is doing well. The wood mock ups were done last week, and the first CNC ones were done this week. They are back at the CNC shop working on a few fitment changes. And actually 2 people who said they were in, never sent the money. So I still have 2 spots if your interested.

2. Remove those useless braces that tie the alternator to the intake manifold. Now BEFORE you ask, I haven't ran these braces for about 3 years, many others have run with out them for years so them not being there is OK.
FYI, damage can happen as a result of not having the braces in place. I always took the braces off when installing headers... until last summer when the accessory bracket decided to snap clear in half right below the top alternator mount. If you've never had to replace the main bracket, let me tell you, it's not very fun!

so maybe we should go back and put those braces on every car made in history....

3 years on my car no braces that I know of, braces weren't on there from previous owner.
3 years on my buddies lt1
5 on my other friends lt1... maybe our cars are "freaks"

What's your problem? I had my main bracket break w/o the braces - just telling MY experience with not having them in there. You and your friends may never have a problem, but people that read this should know that there ARE people that have experienced otherwise before taking them out.

Why not just use these valve covers?

http://www.racenet.net/dress-up/alum...alvecovers.php

They are about 1/2 way down the page.

Great information!

Nice write up!

So you didn't have to clearance the inside of these valve covers at all?
