Those with Ford #30 Injectors.

Just wondering what kinds of heads/cam packages you are running these with. Are they the way to go? I also heard they perform differently, like a Ford 30 is equal to that of an Accell 36. Would someone mind clearing this up for me?

I'll be running the AI 180cc with a 224/230.

I'm running LE2 heads and LE1 cam. Its what Lloyd reccomended, and eem to be working fine. Dunno about difference in performance with the Accells.

Re: Those with Ford #30 Injectors.

I'm running the LE1 package with the 30# SVO's and it runs great for me. As far as the flow ratings on the injectors go, they will flow more than your average 30# injector. Ford injectors are rated 30# at a lower fuel pressure (41.5 I think). The LT1 fuel pressure is about 45 (I think) so when you use the Ford injector it actually becomes about a 32# injector since it will flow more at a higher pressure. Does that help?

Re: Those with Ford #30 Injectors.

Ford/FMS/SVO flowed at 2.7bar (39.15psi)

GM/LT1 flowed at 3.0bar (43.5psi).

Increase in flow running the SVO at 43.5psi:

(43.5 / 39.15)^0.5 = (1.111)^0.5 = 1.054

The SVO flows 5.4% extra when operated at the higher pressure. 30 x 1.054 = 31.62 /HR.

Re: Those with Ford #30 Injectors.

they work well. i'm having a bit of trouble though because they are a little shorter than the gm injectors, so it's hard to get them seated in the fuel rail and in the intake manifold. i think i might shave my fuel rail mounts to lower them in a bit. the only difference is like injuneer explained. ford rates their's at a different pressure
