Didnt realize your mileage was so low. In that case, you should be fine.

Alright. So I don't need crank gears or timing set? Just gotta get combination motorsports 612 spring kit, hardened pushrods, and the cam then?

Am I going to be turning more RPM's than stock? I was talking to a friend of mine who knows a bit about motors and he thinks that I shouldn't have to change springs and lifters and such if im not turning more RPM. What do you think? He doesn't think hardened pushrods is a must either. Says cam swap and go pretty much.

If you disregard all this little stuff now, then you'll have to deal with it later on. Such as the lifters, springs, and so on. Your springs will take a crap pretty quickly on a aftermarket cam, same goes for the stock lifters. You car is still 7 years old, and that stuff is still getting older no matter what your mileage is. I wouldn't cheap myself if I were you. You're going to be spending $600-800 on just the cam and parts, why cheap yourself out of the small stuff? Just spend the extra $100-200 and do it right.

Also, I wouldn't touch a cam unless I had at least headers. Just wait on the install of the cam until you can buy headers. You'll be very disappointed with the cam unless you do headers. Save your money and do everything at the same time.

How much horsepower would I gain by first doing a cam? Then with headers?

You hve to change springs because the stock ones will bind at that lift, and cause valve float because of the aggresive ramps on the camshaft. You don't need to change lifters with your low mileage. Spring kit and pushrods is all you'll need. For just the cam, you might see 20 horsepower with manifolds. Closer to 35 hp with headers.

AFAIK, they make a kit. Give them a call and they'll set you up with everything you need.

Also, should I change lifters just to be safe? What kind of lifters do I need? Just the stock ones?

i wouldn't even consider the cam unless you have headers first. the stock manifolds will choke that thing down so bad that its would be a big disappointment for the amount of time and money you invested. no way you can run an aftermarket cam without swapping the valve springs. your friend doesn't sound familiar with the specs on the LT1 motor. there is a lot more involved than just plug and play if you want the motor to run for more than a week when your done. and tuning will almost be a must with any of the above mentioned cams if you want the car to idle smoothly and have any kind of lowend and midrange power.
