I think the 227/233 on the 112 ls will be best for you. Sound good, make good power, and be plenty drivable.

Also for more info, I am planning on MAC midlength headers in the future if that would make a difference. Will the 227/233 be a noticeable cam?

The 330/336 would be too big of a cam even with MAC midlengths?

I think your referring to the 230/236. Of the three, the only one you should consider at the point your at is the first one. Anything over .600 lift is raunchy. The 227/233 will make about the same power, with a flatter torque curve that starts a little lower in the powerband, which is why i recommended it to you

Alright. Thanks for your help. So the first of the three 230/236 will have a lopier idle than the 227/233? Thats what Im shooting for is a really lopey idle, but still same power.

I was looking at the numbers and I noticed that the ones on the 227/233 were higher and the 230/236 lower. Whats up with this? Which has a lopier idle?

They will both be extremely similar if not alike.

So I wouldn't be disappointed with the 227/233? Also, how do I know which hardened pushrods, crank gears, valvespring, locks, retainers, valve seals, and guideplates I need? Also, do I really need a new timing chain? I see these are abound $250. Can I get these from combination also? I have no clue which stuff to get so if you could please tell me possible the part numbers and where from that would be great. Thanks

STock length hardened pushrods are fine for your setup
(7.2")

The combination motorsports 612 spring kit will work great for you. Comes with springs, retainers, and locks so you don't have to mix and match. I'd personally use only GM valve seals. Any dealer can get them for you, just get 8 intake 8 exhaust small block chevy seals.

If you go with non self aligning rockers, the guideplate you need is GM part # 14011051

Personally I'd stick with the stock rockers until you get a set of headers on there.

We'll I dont think I would pull the motor apart to put rockers on if I got headers...... No benefit doing them without headers yet?
Also, someone mentioned crank gears?

It's advisable to get a new timing chain. A stock replacement isn't expensive. Crank gear would be part of the chain. The rockers benefit might be 5hp without headers. The headers benefit would be ~40hp with the cam. You do the math on which is cheaper per HP.

So I should go to a dealer and get a new crank gear and timing chain? I looked in summit and its $250. You sure I need a new one with only 27,000 miles?
