Is there any way to test optispark?

Hey guys,

I believe that my optispark is bad. Car has been idling poorly - and finally totally died while driving yesterday and had to be towed home. I have heard of a lot of people changing their optisparks and spending $300 just to find that wasn't the problem. My car is a 1997 BTW

I was just wondering if there is any way that it can be tested before I buy another one to be sure that it was the problem. Already bought a new coil last week. Plug wires are pretty new also....\

thanx in advance....

Check for spark from the coil first. Assuming thats ok, check for spark from the plug wires - anything there? If not, that would be a good indication that your opti is dead.

Check for spark but if you have an aftermarket ignition check that too. Mine died last weekend and i put the ignition back to stock and the car fired right up.
