Re: test and tune

Had a pretty successful day at the dyno shop. I found out that no tuning had been done at all. After 2 hrs and 20 pulls everything is tuned great! The supercharger was loosing boost at 4300rpm due to having a bad belt. The final numbers for the day was 467rwhp with 507ftlbs of torque. Tuner thinks that with a new belt and more tuning I could see numbers upwards of 600rwhp with a full 14lbs of boost from super charger! SLICK1HUNTING you were right on about the plugs, they pulled 1 out and it looked pretty ****ty! I have only had the car for 2 weeks and this was the 1st tune session, so I look forward to a winter of putting my own blood, sweat and beers into her!! All tho she does have NOS I don't ever see myself using it. The guys who did the Tuning are from Accelerated Performance in Toledo,Oh. check them out at Accelerated Performance they have a wicked bad *** Toyota Supra that runs 7.39 at 195mph!

Glad it went well but probanly not nearly as much as you. Just keep in mind some builds have a point were they lose dependability as you reach for huge numbers. You always have the option of keeping the boost lower and when needing more power to run the spray at whatever shot. My point is you have options. Not sure if your looking for a weekend warrior or daily driver or race only car but do some thinking about that as each will like a little different combo or more or less upkeep. Good luck

Re: test and tune

If I were you, I'd try and find out more about what is in the engine. With what you list, a fairly large blower cam in particular, and any decent heads, the engine should make 400rwHP on straight motor, through the 4L60E. That means the blower is only adding 67HP or so.... so something is wrong. I understand the belt is slipping, and you indicate you are losing boost at high RPM. But I would have expected substantially more HP.

With 14# of boost, it should be pushing closer to 600rwHP.
