Test fuel pump hookup
Test fuel pump hookup
I just installed my new pump. However, I have yet to put the back of the car together. I wanted to ensure the new pump was installed properly.
First before lifting the tank in there I put a little gas in the tank... and hooked a multimeter up to the connecting harness. The ristance changed as I tilted the tank. So... hopefully this means the fuel level sensor is operating properly.
Next I set the tank up under the car. Left it hanging and hooked all the lines up. I think. There is one line left comming from the carbon canister which I can't find a hookup for. Where does this go??? Is it an air intake of some sort???? Then I plugged in the pump and turned the ignition on. I couldn't hear the pump engage
So Does this mean I hooked something up wrong????
I tried the old pump (still pumps but doesn't flow well). Just let it hang under the car and plugged it into the harness. Then I turned the ignition. Still nothing. What is the deal? How do I ensure the pump is operating before I put the rear all back together??? Am I missing something??
I even hooked my pressure guage up to the fuel rail. again of course... nothing.
Also could somebody give me a checklist to double check I have hooked all the lines up properly?
Thanks
