I recently did this very same change. We measured one spring and it was per spec. Installed everything without shims or measurements along with new 7.200 pushrods; everthing worked perfectly.

The Installed valve height is what it is .you check it so you know what the measurement is so you can set it up on a spring compressor and see what seat pressure is. and then measure max lift on your cam to see if you have coil bind .With the GM hot cam i had to use 0.50 offset locks to keep it out of coil bind.

In a high power buildup one of the many factors to try to optimize is cylinder to cylinder variation - optimum is none, i.e. they need to be as close as possible. Accordingly, the "right" way to set up heads is to check each spring and set the installed height to the desired value. On a less than all out motor, this isn't necessary - but I do it every time.

so when i swap out my stock springs, i could get away with measuring one and just go ahead and install the LT4's from there...

With this swap do i need to even measure? I thought you just compress the old ones, swap them out with the new ones, and lock em in and ur done with this swap

Also to be mentioned when you run cams that are near the max lift of the spring, its considered required since there is little room for error.

With a stock cam and stock head, which is exactly what I had; you should be able to swap springs and just bolt everything. It should work fine. It has worked for me...so far.
