Tb Bypass

Hi .I would like to know when i do the tb bypass. Do i have to bleed the radiator system.

95 trans am

No.

At least I didnt have to.

Just let the engine sit for a bit so it can lose some pressure and so its not scalding hot (mistake I made ).

Be ready for a good bit of coolant to come out

and PROTECT THAT OPTI

Yes PROTECT THE OPTI i made that mistake now its costing me. I feel like an idiot. hell a $2 mod is now costing me 400 bucks just in parts.

i didn't bleed mine but i sure protected the opti. i bet i had enough rags in there to catch a full radiators worth of fluid.

I never bled my system either, but as mentioned above, the protection of your optispark(distributor) is very important. That goes for replacing the water pump or thermostat as well which involves the risk of coolant soaking the opti.

Maybe some confusing terms being used. To protect the Opti from a coolant bath, drain the radiator below the TB coolant connection level. After you have the hoses reconnected to each other, fill the radiator back up and bleed the air out of the cooling system.
