T-56 flywheel counterweight question

I just bought a spec aluminum flywheel and I need to have it balanced the same as the stock flywheel and I was just wondering if all flywheels counterweights were the same? Or are they balanced to that specific motor?

Thanks
Lonnie

they have a standard "weight" on them.. to be safe I would take your old and new flywheel to a speed shop and have them balanced to match..

There is a standard weight for externally balanced small blocks. If you have a stock rotating assy, it should be fine. OTOH, if you have a non-standard assy. you should do as J suggested and have the new piece balanced to the old one. Provided the old setup was correctly balanced, of course.
