Aluminum Flywheel with Mcleod Street Twin?

I found a Street Twin for a good price, but it has the Aluminum flywheel. I have heard in the past, that aluminum flywheels make street driving more difficult. Does anybody have experience with the street twin with aluminum flywheel?

It's the low weight of the flywheel that's the problem. I'm not sure which aluminum flywheel is included in the kit, but Fidanza's weighs about 12 pounds. The stock iron flywheel is almost 30. The extra rotational inertia of the massive flywheel makes engaging the clutch without stalling the motor very easy.

I have a 15-pound forged steel flywheel with my McLeod twin, and while the difference is noticeable, I have no issues with driveability. I've also driven a friend's ~400rwhp '84 WS6 with the Fidanza (and I think a Spec clutch), and I had no issues driving that either.

Better yet, the lighter flywheels reduce the engine's natural resistance to changes in RPM. That means rev matching is easier, engaging the clutch with slight RPM mismatches are less jarring, and best of all, revving it sounds AWESOME.

I have a 97SS 383ci F1A MM6 app. I have an Alum flyWhl from Spec. Tried many Spec clutches. I like the alum fly. About 13lbs. Great for double clutch gear changes.

The clutch'es all slipped except for the Stage 3+. I think maybe I shall op for the dual disc next. I went with an rpmtrans level_6. A new SuperChev article tells me it's ready to break. Should have purchased the t56 Magnum? Was not available @ the time. Maybe a future purchase. But, I will not baby it. Lots of gear bangin to do. B.
