Synthetic on a 93z ?
Synthetic on a 93z ?
I have a 93 z with 96,xxx on it and it needs an oil change. Should i put the regular valvoline 5w-30 or should i put the synthetic. I bought the synthetic but I don't know if this would be a good idea the more i think about it. My neighbor runs it in his 99z but its the ls1 and thats all its ever had in it. So should i flush out the oil with a cleaner and use synthetic or not?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Synthetic on a 93z ?
yea its not a good idea. If the car has got sythentic since the day the motor first started it would be fine, but since its got higher mileage and ran regular oil, just stick to regular oils
Re: Synthetic on a 93z ?
Same here with me. I switched over right around 93k on my '93 and I've been leak-free ever since. I too was scared but just go with it man. If it leaks, use regular oil on your next 3k change.
Re: Synthetic on a 93z ?
I wouldn't switch. It costs more and you may jeopardize your engine. Just stick with a good quality 5w or 10W 30 or 40 and change your oil regularly.
