Swapped in a Borla

I picked up(stole) a complete Borla catback with 8000mi. for $250. I installed it yesterday and what a sound improvement over the TTS exhaust that came on my car. I went with the largest diameter plate and it sounds awesome when opened up! I had mixed feelings on Borla back when I had my 94, but I like how they are pretty tame at normal driving rpm's but when opened up...

Re: Swapped in a Borla

While on the subject of sound...

For the last several years I've been running Edelbrock headers, stock cat and Borla cat-back. It sounded awesome. Now that I've installed my LE2 383, I still have the same set-up, but I removed the cat. Now... without the cat... it sounds like complete schitt. I'm planning on going with LT's or Mac mids in the near future.

Do you have that raspy, redneck, glasspack sound with your setup? Mine makes the most terrible sound when I'm cruising at low speeds and the trans shifts to OD.

Actually we have basically the same setup, I have Edelbrock headers and hollowed out cats and a 383. No, I dont get that raspy glasspack sound. I used to get it with the old TTS system I had though.
