Superdamper install
Superdamper install
Im trying to install a new ATI superdamper on my lt1, but im not sure how far to press it on, and dont want to start stripping threads. Anyone have any info on this? a measurement from the opti to the back of the dampener would be awesome.
thanks for any info.

What year is the engine? Does it have a CKP sensor? Are you using the spacer that comes with the ATI?
You need to add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, tranny and any major mods. That way the required info is always attached to your posts, so peole can help without asking a lot of questions.

You would know if there is a crank sensor from the timing cover:

If you put the spacer on, and it seated so the pulley is in line with the accessory drives, you don't have a CKP. Put a straight edge across the various pulleys to make sure the damper pulley is aligned properly. In the end, that's what matters.

ive tightened it to the point where im pretty sure it wont go on any more, and measuring from theback of the pulley to the opti there is about 1/8 inch more than on a stock 93 motor. unfortunately i still have to build the accessory setup so i cant line them up.
