substitute for K&N?

I have a K&N cold air intake with a K&N filter.. I dont really like oiling it because i always feel like im over oiling it and im always having to clean off the MAF. (not really always but you know...) whats a good substitute that you dont have to worry about oils and such?

Re: substitute for K&N?

How often do you clean and oil the K&N? Its only supposed to be cleaned every 25,000-50,000 miles. Cleaning it too often wears it out.

Its very easy to oil it without getting the oil on the MAF.

Re: substitute for K&N?

The oil won't hurt anything else..
Worst thing it can do is coat the MAF wires..

Re: substitute for K&N?

Just follow the instructions and you should be fine. For extra insurance, I will let mine sit overnight before installing it back in the car.

Re: substitute for K&N?

If you really want to substitute the K&N, you can order and AEM Dry Flow Filter. It is there latest technology. It uses basically microfiber as the filter media. It requires no oil, and can be cleaned and reused just like a K&N. The cool thing is you do not have to wait for it to dry to re-oil it. I'm sure you can find an interchange, application look-up on AEM's website.
