Steering wheel air bag substitution
Steering wheel air bag substitution
For everybody holding back on installing a great looking MOMO or GRANT steering wheel because of the AIR BAG removal associated problems:
I found that the steering wheel air bag can be substituted with a resistor ranging in value between 1.2 and 3 ohms. Any other resistance value used will trigger the red "AIR BAG" lamp in your dash.
In theory, with this modification the system will still be functional for the passenger side air bag.
In my case I unpluged the yellow cable going to the steering wheel under the dash and pulled it out of the steering column.
I used two five ohm resistors in paralell to substitute all this and the system thinks that the driver side is sill there.
