Stupid thermostat question.....

I have a 160 degree hypertech t-stat and a madZ28.com tune for the 160 t-stat.

What temperture should the car be running at. My scanmaster says its up in the 180's. Is this normal?
Thanks

Re: Stupid thermostat question.....

Sounds right to me. A 160deg t'stat only starts to open at 160degF. It isn't fully open until about 180degF. And you don't usually set the fan "on" temperature too close to 160degF. Ask your tuner where he set the fan temps.

Re: Stupid thermostat question.....

I have a tune from MadZ28 and the 160 stat as well. If I sit idling it won't go any higher than 180-185. Most of the time driving around its in the 170 range.
