But on mine, the size of the opti seal is the same size as the water pump drive seal.

Its not like a 2 inch circle like all the guides I have seen.

I'm assuming because mine is a 94.
If someone posts a link trying to help you, you should do your best to read it.

Yes, you do have a small opti seal, but in the link they show the large opti seal for 95 and later and the crank seal is similar. You just pry it out. It's not rocket science.

Re: Stupid Mistake, help?

Okay the forum url is like impalasuperstore, sorry I didn't read the fine print..

But you say its not rocket science, then get mad at me when I just go ahead and do certain things and say "you should've clarified or asked us"

How would I know if it was anything like the drive seal where you have to be extremely careful?

I'm sorry, I'm just tired of doing this job, doing it 5 times in a week really puts a toll on you.
10 water pump gaskets.

But for all who're concerned, I used the coupler thing that guides the water pump onto the shaft to install my water pump seal, I sanded it down and it worked PERFECTLY.

I have 0 leaks and have put about 40 miles on the car since.

Also changed the opti seal, old one shot out of place with assistance from some pliers and the inside was pretty warn out.

Tapped a new one in real quick and it is also leak free.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Hopefully I'll be done asking questions related to this thread.

Glad you got the repairs made. And it appears successfully. You can relax and take it easy on a Sunday.

I know you are young and inexperienced, but you gained some valuable knowledge on this one. Glad it is back together and doing ok.

Re: Stupid Mistake, help?

You claim you don't want to bother with reading anything, you want to "learn from your mistakes". If doing something 5 times and screwing it up is your idea of learning, you have to understand it's really frustrating to people who like to find out how to do something BEFORE they screw it up, and have tried to help you up front, only to be ignored.

And, as soon as someone has the least negative thing to say, you get nasty with them.

If this attitude continues, you will be removed from the site. Once again, closing your thread. Strike two. Gonna go for strike three?
