studder, hesitation...

I had originally thought this problem i was having in my 93' was the disfunctional EGR. I figured since my EGR was throwing a code that it wasnt working properly and as i read what a faulty EGR may do to a car, it sounded just like my problem. But i made a plate to block the EGR off at the back of the intake and installed that properly so my EGR is no longer going into the intake. So i know that is no longer the problem. What do i do now??

You might want to describe the specific conditions under which you experience the stutter/hesitation - rpm, throttle position, engine load, etc.

usually right around 2000 rpms after im either at a stop or going real slow and then i semi hit the gas pretty hard....Im not sure if this is the opti, bad o2 sensors, fuel filter...or what it is...but i have taken a few measures to fix it...

1). Blocked EGR
2). Brand New K&N air Filter
3). New Plugs and Wires

Dont know what it could be...car runs fine all the time and always starts right up...just every now and again, i get that little studder/hesitation when i try to accelerate a little quick from a stop or from a slow roll...

Did you gap the plugs right? How miles on the opti? Have you checked for vaccum leaks?

i gapped the plugs fine, i made sure of that....i suppose its possible for me to have a vaccuum leak, but i would not know where to start trying to find out...i know i put a new hose on my pcv valve a few months back cuz that hose was all torn up and i figured i was leaking there...but other than that i dont know...
