Studder around 3000RPM

Alright guys, not a huge problem, but something I'd like to look into when I put the car back into storage for the winter. When driving passively, I notice many times the car will stutter right around 3000rpm, sometimes it won't, and when it does if I give it alot of throttle it will stop stuttering and just go! Usually when I first start it, it runs rough and backfires alot too, but once it warms up seems to run fine. I have the mods listed below, and recently removed the air pump and replaced the push-rods. Could rockers that are too tight or too loose cause this problem, or could it be something else?
