street tires as good as DR

I'm having some traction problems, so the tires on my sig car are gonna change once I do gears or tc. Is there any street tire that comes fairly close to the performance of nitto's or et streets? ( know...there would be no et streets if a street tire compared, hehe.) I've been looking at goodyear gs d3's to go on my stock salad shooters.

your going to get a lot of different answers here, and some from people that have never used DR's they just happen to like their current street tire.

A search should produce many threads relating to tires, but the two that keep coming up the most it seems are Kuhmo 712's and Firestone SZ 50's. Take it for what its worth.

The typical 60' times are 0.2-0.3 seconds faster with DR's as compared to street radials. I doubt there is a huge difference between similar type street radials. Racing tires of about the same size will also be 0.2-0.3 seconds quicker than DR, or more. WIth sticky race tires on a prepared surface the amount of improvement will also depend on launch torque (and suspension). They may be so stick as to bog a car that doesn't launch hard. That's why some people go slower with slicks.
