stock tuning and cc306?

I am getting ready to buy jet hot long tubes, 1.6 rr, and either a cc305 or cc306 cam. How does either cam run without a tune, will it gain any power, and is it drivable? also what is needed besides valve springs?

It will run like shat. Get the tune after you do all that stuff. As far as other things, might wanna replace lifters too if you have a lot of miles on that motor.

best advice is get the pcm tuned while you have your car apart with what you plan so you have no downtime.. w/o a tune get used to it stalling after you apply the brakes to come to a stop every time..

first of all... you will not want to put a cam on a 100kmile engine. high possibilit of burning upthe cam bearings. especially with a cc306. save the cam for a complete motor rebuild. but to answer your question....it will barely run at all,and your car will throw more codes than dodge lol anyway, for $99 plus shipping, pcmforless.com will give you a hell of tune for your excact combo. can't beat that

IMO that is an internet myth that people keep passing on. If a cam is done properly on a decent shape engine you should have no trouble. As i have stated many times, as well as others, the reason most engins fail after upgrades is the engine had another problem befor upgrade, blown head gaskets ect., and they are drive harder after upgrades. So if i change the came and the fuel pump goes out a week later it is the cams fault, right?
