Stock-headed CC305 - New Best - Video

I went out to Firebird last night with hopes of running a 12.5. I didn't quite get there, but I got pretty close.

My previous best is a 12.77 @ 108.26 on a 1.93 60'. The conditions were very nice last night. Heres what the run looked like:

60' 1.869
330 5.307
1/8 8.157
MPH 86.23
1000 10.599
1/4 12.669
MPH 109.56

Needless to say, I was happy. The MPH is finally getting close to where it should be, and I'm hoping for another MPH or 2 with a tune. The clutch was still slipping on that pass so I think there is more in it as it sits. Now I just need a clutch and a tune.

Here are the vids:

12.66 pass - http://www.public.asu.edu/~dbump/videos/daniel1266.mpg

Heres another video w/a much better view...didn't go quite as fast on this run but still cut a 1.86 60' - you can see the launch much better on this run:

Good times!! What is your race weight?

I am running just a tad faster than you with a CC306 and ported heads that are supposed to flow 285/215 @.600", but I am running out of fuel and am hoping that is slowing me down.

Thanks. Race weight is 3610 lbs.

Hope fixing your fuel problem gets you to where you want to be.

I'm sure thats with man, unless he has a dead body in his trunk. These cars tend to weigh about 3400lbs with out driver. Wow i thought there would be like 15 responses by now, but i guess not.

those are impressive times. my best 1/8 run with the 305, stock heads and shorties was 8.21 @ 86.70. i ran the 1/4 once after that but misplaced the slip...my best run was 12.71 @ 109.8something, but i have no idea what the incrementals were. i've seen people post low 12 second ET's and MPH as high as 113 with the 305 cam and stock heads. i never stuck around long enough to see if i could match those figures. i got the stock heads ported, went with a little bigger cam and blew up.

Yeah...I remember your car running pretty well w/the stock heads. Too bad you blew it up.

My goal is 11s on stock heads, but I'm sure I will need to upgrade to LTs eventually - as well as a 12-bolt and a bigger clutch. A tune wouldn't hurt either.

cef97ws6 - thats w/me in the car.

Thanks. Yes, I'm still running the stock programming. I plan on ordering some pcmforless tuning in the next couple weeks. I want to get it dyno-tuned, but the obd2 software is too expensive right now. I'm hoping tuning will help out a little.
