starting problem

When the car is not warmed up it taked 4-5 seconds for the car to start. It turns and always starts but it has a delay. When the car has been on for a lil its starts up right away. I have a new battery, starter, gas filter, and plugs, what do think the problem may be. I have also cleaned the injectors. Any suggestions-mechanic cant figure it out because when i take it there the car starts up right away because it has been warmed up. Please help-prolonging problem. Thanks guys.

Re: starting problem

I'd suspect a leaking down regulator or, more than likely, a bad fuel pump. The check valve goes bad in the stockers and causes this. My Z did the same thing; I put a Walbro in and it's all better. Put a gauge on the rail and see what the pressure does. If it drops, check the regulator by pulling the return line and plugging the outlet from the rails. If the pressure stays, the regulator is bad. IF it still drops, the pump needs replaced.
