Go to an electrical supply house a welding shop will rape you on the price.
If it is dropping that much I would have to say you are seeing another problem than just cable size.
The test I stated is to be measured without a battery charger.
Charge the battery till you get a full charge, take it off and now measure at the battery. Now measure at the starter do not go by the gauge on the dash.
See what it drops.
