Re: Stage 8 locking Bolts? ?

I just got mine along with my Pacesetter LT's. I started a thread about this a while ago, and most people liked them, many others recommend a type of locking header bolts made by Breslin's. The bolts that come with the Pacesetter's are 1" so I ordered 1" Stage 8's. If you haven't considered gaskets yet, you'll need them too, the ones that come with the Pacesetters feel like a cross between cardboard and foam. Just looking at the bolts and sizing them in the headers, they fit fine.

Re: Stage 8 locking Bolts? ?

I got the Stage 8s on my car, and I love them. I ordered 1" and they worked great, except one. The way the primary was shaped, the 1" was a bit too long to get in there and get the thread started, so I just used one of the bolts that came with the Jet-Hots. Then I called Stage 8 and explained to them what happened. They over-nighted a 3/4" to me, and didn't charge me anything.

The Breslins also look nice, but the thing I don't like about them is that you can only use a wrench on them, no allen wrenches. There's a few bolts that are much easier to reach with an allen instead of a wrench on an LT1. The Breslins would work good on a SBC that has a much larger engine compartment.
