SS Airbox install problems...

Hey guys,I just bought a SS intake to match my Suncoast SS Hood.Problem is when I went to install,it makes contact with the driver side AIR connection.Anybody else have this problem,or know how I can get this airbox on correctly.

Thanks

Been there, done that. Suncoast hood AND airbox. Same problem. I just took a BFH and beat the metal part of the AIR hose out of the way. Worked fine until I removed the AIR altogether.

No problem, ALSO -- The fuel lines go over the airbox. However, they come in a big ribbed plastic tube. I cut out ~4" of that tube where the fuel lines passed over the airbox. If you dont, that big tube will hit when you try to shut your hood, so if you haven't done it yet, be sure to do that.

Here's a pic of the fuel lines. I've since straightened the filter out. (It's not crooked anymore )

Any chance you have a pic of the air connection before you remvoed the system? Also, does your car pass emissions with no AIR hookups?Just curious.Thanks.

No pic, I just beat it sideways and down towards the brake lines until it cleared. You don't need AIR to pass emissions. Matter of fact, AIR does nothing for the sniffer test at all. IT only runs for 2-3 minutes on cold startup.

Spinner is correct about the limited function of the air system, but forgets that in some states you will fail the visual inspection if you remove it. Check your states policy.
