Squealing sound from inside the motor.
Hi guys I got a squealing sound from inside my motor in the front. My oil pressure is good so I don't think its a bearing. But when I did my Colyes dubble chain their was a plate that went on after the chain on the crank, befor I put on the cover. I think this plate is being eaten up by my chain. Was I supposed to leave this out when I installed the dubble chain? The plate is between the cover and the chain my uncle said it was to oil the chain so I left it on,but I think it is rubbing on the chain. thanks
Ok I just pulled the belt. And it is as quiet as can be. The dam alternater I just got is making the noise. The reason I brought up that plate is because befor the chain did eat it up. But I clearenced it and it shouldent be hitting now. Glad it was not internal that would have been hell. Have any of you guys had this problem with autozone alternators? I bought the lifetime one so I shouldent have a problem returning it sence its only been 1 month. That chain is as strong as hell it ate that plate befor and did not leave a mark on the chain. Thanks for the tip on removing the belt.
