Well, you can't just absolutely avoid it. It happens if it happens.

Good oil pressure, don't over-spin the bottom end, and make sure you have oil.

Make sure you have plenty of oil (not too much, some like to run 1/4 at low, I run level.) Check you oil pressure, you'll want 10 psi per every 1000 rpm. If you're at 6000 rpm and don't see 60 Psi, don't try going to 6500.

I spun my stock bottom at 6400+ back in 2001, I wont be doing that again.
