Pulling Dowel Pin out of Cam??????

What is the best way to remove the dowel pin from the camshaft? I'm installing a used cam from a 94 into my 96 and I need to install a longer pin.

Agreed. It can be a real chore to remove one and it still be in good shape. A shop can do it in a few minutes.

ZI hit mine with the blowtorch and put the pin in the vice and pulled. Took some work, but came out straight and i was careful with it.

Some of them can be rough. I had one shatter on me (guess I was too rough.) I then had a machine shop extract it, lesson learned.
