Spun bearings, is block still good?
My buddy has a 95 LT1 block that we just disassembled and noticed he spun 3 main bearings on the caps. Is the block still usable and can it be machined? The stock crank also suffered some damage from the spun bearings, but can the crank be machined also? I don't know a thing about how bad or not spun bearings are so please forgive my ignorance. Thanks!
Jeff

The crank will depend on how bad it's been damaged. Only your machinist will be able to tell you if it's salvagable.
The block "may" be saved. The mains will need to be line honed and resized. I guess it's going to depend on the bearing retainer groove. If it's wiped out then it's probably not salvagable. Possibly only main caps are required but then it will still need to be line honed.
