SPEC problem?

Basically, my old SPEC stage 3 carbon went out, replaced it with the same thing. Now when i depress the clutch a bout 65% down, the fork begins to grind on the pressure plate. Im wondering if anyone has had a problem like this. Was this clutch installed improperly? Or maybe I was possibly given the wrong model. What I am thinkning is the pressure plate is too thick and sticks out too much and makes contact with the fork. Any thoughts?

There is only one way the fork should slide on. The neck off the bearing is shape like a rain drop and the fork should slide onto and arround the pointy side of it.

How long did the first SPEC last? I will probably be buying one soon.

Thanx

Sounds exactly like what happened to me! A spring blew out of my clutch disk thanx to a worn out pilot bushing. We took the clutch out and the spring fell to the floor. So we put a new disk in and put the car back together. What happens, the symptoms you describe are pretty much the same except it was very hard for me to shift gears or get it in gear. Took it apart again and I found the small spring that was inside the big spring in the clutch disk was wedged in the PP somewhere so it wouldn't allow it to disengage. Play with your fork more if that doesn't work pull the tranny

Oh btw mine is a SPEC stage III ceramic.

So you used a bushing instead of a bearing?
