Sounds stupid, but please answer

I dont want to use my dipstick. I have no need for it even though it sounds stupid. I cant get it to go back in after the header install and now its leaking. Is there a way I can remove the dipstick tube and plug the opening in the pan somehow?

I have heard that if you take some sand paper and kind of sand down the outside circumfrence(sp) of the tube where it slides in it will make it a lot easier to get in.

Sand down the part of the tube that enters the block. Make sure and wipe away any metal shavings from the sanding and use a hammer to tap it back in from the top. A friend will help alot!

You really should have a dipstick. You have to get the bend on it right.Sanding ,then a little grease on it will help.Someone to help you with it may get the job done.Once you get it started in the hole put a screwdriver in the top of the tube to tap it in.

Don,t do anything until I come over and take a look at it.
I think we can get the dipstick in without issues but hey if we can,t then I will bring my tubing cutter over and we will do what I did and chop a little off the tube.
Mine works fine and it was alot easier to get in.
You need the dipstick man so don,t go plugging up the hole.
This weekend I will come over so give me a PM on MOGMHP or something and let me know what day is good for you.
