I have a 1997 ws6. It is in excellent shape and runs strong. I went to the NXR performance shop today in NC and the owner has a 2002 ss with 17k on it, and he offered me a straight up trade. The only thing bad about the car is that it was bought at a police auction and is spray painted black(looks like sh*t).He also has some work done to the car.headers , throttle body, maf,and a nice little 150 shot. I am really leaning towards the trade but i would like to know a little more about the history of the car. what would you do?

 

I would be a little leary about this.
You know the car is gonna need paint, but take a real good look at all the mechanicals and make sure it is gonna drive out and perform up to snuff.
Could be a really worthwhile trade but only if the engine, tranny, and rear end and stuff check out.
Paint is gonna hit ya hard too, but if it drives out and everything is good.....I would do it.

 

If it sounds to good to be true ....well you know the rest. I would be very careful.

 

Grab the VIN and run a Carfax report.

But I'd stick with my WS6, because I'm a big LT1 fan.

 

i would never take that deal for one reason, the nitrous.

u dont know how often it was used and nitrous can really reduce the life of the engine. also, a 150 shot is kinda big for a stock motor to survive for a long time on.
