Smells rich but runs lean?

My car seems to be running real rich. It smells rich and bogs down, so today i changed the plugs, and they all showed signs of running lean. They were very white. The car isnt throwing any codes. I installed my cc306 and had a mail order tune done from MadZ28. Anyone ahve any ideas as to what it may be doing?

Have you recently done your 02's or do you have a scanner so that you can show everyone what they are reading.

Yes, I do have a scanner. I will get some readings.

Both front 02's are constantly switching back back and forth between the range of .220 to .445. I had the rear 02's deleted.

When I went to Ed Wrights to be chassis tuned, he told me about cars smelling rich but are actually lean....like mine was before he started tuning. A lean car has a different smell than a rich car.ALthough they are similar smells, a lean car will burn your eyes where a rich car will not.

DO not run it anymore. Find the problem. At idle the o2's should be around 800 ish

at idle o2 should fluctuate between 200-900 or so rapidly

As noted above, if they are really staying that low, either the sensors are faulty, or the engine is actually running lean. If it is running lean, the PCM should be trying to correct it by adding fuel. If its a "real" lean, it will correct. If its a "false" lean, its going to run rich.

What did you measure the O2 voltages with? Problem is, they are changing so rapidly (~9 times per second) you can't see all the readings, unless you are data logging with a scan rate of 10 frames per second. Then you should see the readings covering the full range of 0xx-9xx mVolts, with an average value of 450mV.

Do you have a cat?

I used my scanner to read them. Its just a code scanner that will let me view the data from the sensors/computer. And no I have no cats on the car.

No cat(s) = fuel smell

Did the problem start suddenly, or build up over a period of time? Did you make any changes just before it started smelling bad and bogging? When does it smell... at idle, normal driving, black cloud at WOT???? When does it bog?
