slver bullet, gotta question 4 ya.

How are you liking that LE3 heads/LE2 cam setup? Does it idle good? Did u have it dyno'd? if so, how much u makin? Sorry to be so nosey, but I had the same exact setup in mind, and i'm still considering it. Ive talked on the phone alot to lloyd about this, trying to get everything on a list, did you upgrade your oil pump or go stock? I seriously considering the STS system for mine ('97 Z M6) its a little cheaper and easier to install. The main thing is that the STS has a little less power than what the H/C package would be but has a heck of alot more torque. I would appreciate the help. I'm gonna do one or the other but not both, so Im havin a hard time deciding. Thanks, Brian

lol, you could always pm me.... but since ill be giving some props to all those that helped me put together an awesome setup (Lloyd, Bret, Ion mostly...and a lot of the guys from this website), ill go ahead and post a reply here.

i have no means for a direct comparison to an f-body with an sts turbo on it, so ill only be able to give you information on how my car rides.

i actually got all my bugs worked out on friday night. my optispark went to crap with the new motor and i couldnt rev past 5k rpms. but let me say that since the fix, the ride is completely unreal (keep in mind that i went from a completely stock car to the car in the signature below). when i took it out on friday, i almost crapped myself. seriously. when i hit second gear and almost did a 180*, it scared the hell out of me (in a good way). so now ive learned to drive it a little better since then. it idles awesome. i get nothing but nonstop compliments on the idle. i think the idle alone is a good enough reason to get this setup. you feel like such a bada$$ in this thing. i use it as a daily driver so it isnt too harsh IMO. w/ 4.10 gears at highways speeds (~70mph) i cruise at ~2k rpms. i get better gas mileage with this setup than with my old setup (about 240 miles per tank). i havent had it on the dyno yet, but will get it there in a couple weeks. ill keep everyone posted as to what power it makes. i had a friend ride with me the yesterday and claimed that when i took off, it gave him that feeling that his stomach dropped (the feeling you get on a roller coaster when you go over a steep hill). as far as my oil pump went, i bought a new (stock type) pump with the white (higher pressure) spring. it is absolutely the coolest thing youll ever get. i would recommend this setup to anyone. let me know if you have any other questions.

I appreciate the info, I didnt pm ya because i thought some other people might wanna know the same. I guess im in your shoes too bc i have a completely stock LT1 M6, I'm sure you cant go wrong with either one of the setups but I couldnt imagine the sound of the blowoff valve on my car everytime i shift, likewise I havent talked to anyone that has a STS kit (i guess bc theyre so new) but the dyno results from 7psi on their site was 394 HP and 450 TQ, I've seen a dyno result from the LE2 package and the HP was about 410 and TQ was about 360 if I can remember right. But regardless, Im not saying either one of them is better than the other. Im just havin a hard time deciding. Thanks alot for the info

Re: slver bullet, gotta question 4 ya.

on sts's sight, are those numbers the amount of power to the wheels or at the crank? just curious.

i also considered the sts, but went with the current setup due to, IMO, better reliability. from what ive read, at 7psi on a turbo and a stock motor, you wont be running it too long because of the stock CR. your going to be spending just as much money if not more to make it a reliable daily driver.

i'm sure the blowoff valve would sound good but not near as good as the LE2/3 idles. wait till you hear one in person. these soundclips do them no justice. i cant believe how loud the intake of air on these things are. i can actually hear the intake of air through the CAI over the sound of my exhaust while in the car (at a low idle...like through a parking lot or something. sounds cool though, nonetheless). and just to clearify, i didnt buy these parts because of the "cool" sound that they have. just an added bonus that i enjoy.

those numbers on the site are rear wheel. I have considered the stock bottom end on my car with the 7 psi on it, even lloyd said the stock bottom would hold up good as long as it was about 8 lbs or less. lol now you got me wanting to hear yours, you going on the power tour this year? I think itll end up around your area this year.
