Skip Lock Overrides

How easy is it to install one of the shift lock eliminators? I found a place to order one, just curious how easy it is.

Thanks..

What year is your car?

94/95 = unplug the harness connector = no SES light/no skip shift

96/97 = unplug harness connector, plug 2.2Kohm, 1/2 watt resistor into harness plug = no SES light/no skip shift

Alternatively, $25-30 for a ready-made eliminator resistor in a harness connector, unplug connector, plug in "eliminator".

You did mean "skip shift"??????

takes longer to jack the car up and crawl under it than it does to actually install the unit...

well worth the $30 to get rid of that darn skip shift crap!

Sorry.. 97 Camaro Z28. Yeah I meant Skip Shift, that absolutely drives me insane!!!!

So it's a fairly easy thing to do if I buy one of the overrides.

Easy.

Here's a pic of the driver's side of the tranny, showing where the skip shift solenoid is.
