Cam question
Ok, my mods for this spring should be the following (as far as this question is concerned)
Hooker LT's
3" exhaust (or cut-out)
3000 stall
stock heads (for at least a year)
100 shot wet
PCM Tuning
Now, cam wise, I was thinking of going with the CC 306.. I have read up a lot on it and it seems to be favored with head work only, but all the cases I read with stock heads, they weren't spraying. Will spraying make the cam shine more? or should I still go with something like a 224 / 230, .502 / .510 112 LSA which seems to be the choice for stock heads with bolt ons?
I contacted CompCams and they suggested 218 / 224, .495 / .502 112 LSA for my setup, but from what I hear it's more of a street cam, where I'm looking more for a street/strip cam. It is a daily driver, so it's gotta be streetable, it's just I care about the strip for power rather than the street so much.
Also, can the stock motor/fuel system safely take a 150 wet shot without much worry? I know a 100 shot can be done all day with little concern, but I'm tempted to go 150 after hearing a friend ran 175 for a little over a year.
Thanks
- Jason
