Talking This Site Is Great!!!

well i just replaced the power window motors in my friends 1994 firebird and i must say that it sooooo easy.

i have been working on cars my whole life and at first when i looked at these things i thought that i would have to drill out the rivets and mess around with that huge spring, without delay i jumped on here and started looking and after 10 mins here i was able to remove the motors by just making 3 small holes and removing the actual motor itself

this was so easy, once the doors were apart it took me like 15mins to do both doors

i probably would still be out there if i hadn`t look here first.

anyways i just wanted to say thank you guys for this board!!!!!
and if anyone else is gonna do the window motor swap, i used this one
www.shbox.com it had the exact diagrams and pictures.
thanks shoebox for such an awsome site!!!

I just did the same thing today also... Shoebox RULES... I'd rather be stuck in my shop working on a motor rather than fixing my car so I really have to give him some credit here helping get the SS ready for my road trip!

Glad I can help out.

Now, if I can just get finished with that guide for home-grinding your own cam with a file.... (actually, for a custom grind I will probably contact Bret ).

lol

That window motors biggest pain in the *** is when you have to put the new screws in... dam is that a bitch!

Either way Advance Auto Parts up here had a new motor in stock for $55 and it's a champ compared to the stock made in mexico crap in the passenger side now. Guess I will have to do that one sooner or later.

BTW I'll probably cut you a discount as a "donation" to your site!

I think it can be done with a Dremel and a ruler.
