Are the single & dual cat ypipes interchangeable?

I was wondering if the single and dual cat y pipes are the same size and shape as to where they are interchangeable. I am asking this because I want to make an ory out of a single cat ypipe to try it out to find out if i liek the sound or not for when i get headers.

The dual cat and single cat Y-pipes are completely different. The single cat pipe bolts to the exhaust manifold on both sides. The dual cat pipe bolts to the manifold on the passenger side, but on the drivers side, it is about 10" shorter and has a weird triangular flange so it can attach to the cat that is bolted to the manifold.

Thanks man, saved me some hassle.

Just want to verify then, the -95's and 96-97 have different stock manifolds then too?
