Well, you could convert to an electric waterpump.

They were working well before, so why replace them now. It only takes an hour or so to swap them, why spend the $400 if you dont need to.

I like it; if its not broke, don't fix it. The (potential) problem is that the engine is stuffed in an 88 rx7 convertible. I think the "hour or so" estimate probabl doesn't apply, since the radiator has to go to access the front of the engine.

Still, i think im leaning towards putting the goods back rather than spending the bucks.

I wouldn't change them unless you think there may be something wrong with them.

I'd change the opti and the waterpump, Probably about $275 in parts from CROMER, its insurance that you wont have to be in that area again for some time at least..

If you decide to change the Opti... I will sell you one, never used, for 190 + shipping. I will also include the WP gaskets and Opti seals.

You will not get it cheaper than that. I just bought it 2 weeks ago from SamTaylor Chevrolet. It was $210 plus shipping, plus I had to buy wp gaskets and opti seals.. which was proly about $6-$7. My problem ended up being the coil. I should have done more research before listening to everyone else.

Let me know if you're interested.
