Should I remove the LT1 and swap in a 406?

That is correct-- easier to get a 4 bolt main block in a 350.

So sue me for 2cid. I have always called it a 406. A 4.00" bore x a 4.00 stroke is a 401cid and .030 overbore is usually 5cid sooooo a 406. Never heard of a 408.

No matter what you're still wrong, the 406 in question is a 406 not a 408 and has a 4.155 bore so the pistons won't fit in a 4.00" bore no matter what.

Like I said there is more than one way to build one. Ya can even get there with a BB.

Since we're talking about a sbc 400 theres only one way to make a 406. And i'd like to see you fit a 4" stroke in a sbc 350 block.

For all of this work you guys are talking about with this conversion stuff.....why wouldnt he just build the lt1?
