Should i change from Flowmaster to Hooker muffler?

I was thinking switching to Hooker while i had the cash. I was wondering if i would see any gain at all. Probably run me about $100 to do it. All i have is the flowmaster right now and stock exhaust setup. I was also thinking about cutting the passenger side cat but did a search and read some bad things about that. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Although not exactly what you are looking for, I originally
had the Edelbrock cat back system on my car. I think it's
a straight through type of muffler with packing. After about
a year I switched to a Flowmaster 80 series muffler and
had a minor but noticeable improvement (seat of the pants).
This also resulted in more interior noise at certain rpm and
throttle points (typical of the Flowmaster).

Just get a cutout… get better gains, and save your self a lot of dough.

You can buy them just about anywhere. Summit and Jegs have them.

Get the 3"

...and install it in the strait section of pipe right before the exhaust bends over the axle.

I had the flowmaster, I switched to hooker catback and love it. Don't do a cutout becsue down the road if you do heders or anyhting you will hate the sound. It is just obnoxious with no tone to it at all and plus it is illegal for everyday driving.
