P1371 Distributor Ignition (DI) low resolution circuit

Not looking good. It's pointing to your opti. You might want to start by checking the connections of the wiring getting to it.

Not normally. There are other codes for the coil or ICM. The pcm would only be looking at the opti to set that code.

 

Jeez, you got a p1371 and your car is still running?

I popped that code after my car crapped out on me thanksgiving morning. and sure enough.... I had to replace that opti! Good luck bro.. you might get lucky and have a bad connection somewheres but like Rob said, its pointing to your Opti ......

Not unusual to find that as a "stored" code... it seems to set on startup sometimes, when the PCM can't find the signal from the Opti right away. Clear it, and see how soon it comes back.

As Hyperspeed points out, if it was an "active" code, the car wouldn't be running. If the PCM can't find the low res pulse, it shuts down the fuel pump and the injectors.

 

yeah i had everything cleared like 1 or 2 days ago...then i keep getting the p1441 code....and when they checked it...it came up with the p1371 also....so now im stumped i mean
