Sensor Info

Quick question. What sensor is located in the oil pan of Fbodies LT1? Low oil sensor im thinking? Correct me if im wrong.

Yes, there is a low oil level sensor in the LT1 oil pan.

I was wondering what that thing was for. Is there a way to unscrew it and put a temperature sensor in there? I don't have a fourthgen so I don't have a low oil light.
