Any idea what may cause this?

I thought maybe it was too loose but now I am begining to think it may be a bad lifter. I set al valves half turn past zero lash. They are self align gmpp that came with the LT4 kits. The car is a stock bottom ported LT1 heads and 503 compe XE cam. It has PAC behives.

So I pulled the cover off, checked everything put it b ack together started it up and it ticks...pulled cover back off and the same one is really loose again.

 

Are the tabs still good on the roller? Sometimes they jump over when they get worn down.

 

yeah they look fine. I keep losing my lash.....Maybe its just bleeding down. I'm not sure

 

A couple of the tabs on my gmpp's were a little worn. But if thats not the case sounds like a lifter. Nuts not backing down?

 

You check the edges of the valves? Maybe rounded off?

 

brand new. just put the heads on fired it up...bleed the cooling system..drove it about 3/4 a mile. Did not get on it or anything. I am 100% positive I adjusted the valves corectlly. and I double checked them.

The nuts are not backing off. Still tight. the rocker only came off once. I will mess with it more tommorow. Its just a little odd to me. I don't have much confidence in self align rockers.

 

I was advised against using SA rockers with the Beehives. Because you loose a LOT of "self-aligning" room with the way the retainer sets on the valve. Not nearly as deep as stock.

 

How is the rocker nut still tight if it is coming loose? If it comes off the valve it should loosen up.
