Is this also a security light issue?

Re: security light
You don't have to splice any wires. Disconnect the plug and stick the resitor leads in the connector side that goes to the PCM not the side that goes up the steering column. Shrink wrap or tape it and you're done. The resistor can be gotten at Radio Shack. The value only needs to be within 10% so don't sweat getting precise. Did mine over a year ago. No problem like before when I changed the steering wheel and the wires got cut. In order to get the airbag light out, had to remove the sir coil. When I did that, I didn't realize the wires from the contacts was rubbing.
