seafoam-general question

I added seafoam to the crankcase a couple days ago and have just a simple question. How long am I supposed to keep the seafom in there? I don't want to keep it in there too long and have it eat away at my crank and bearings and such. I checked the can and it doesnt have much info as far as usage is concerned. So, if someone could help me out here I'd appreciate it.

It's not like a motor flush that has extremely harsh chemicals and can dislodge chunks into your oil galleries. It is a gentle laxative for your oil and slowly cleans. I've known guys who put it in on a Saturday and change their oil the following weekend. No problems, no leaks... runs smooth.

Alright, cool. I'll just leave it in there for a couple hundred miles or so and change the oil. Thanks for the info.

anywhere between 250 - 500 miles is what most people here do. Uhm, I think you're also supposed to change your oil after 1000 miles after that, make sure you get all the gunk out.
