Knock count can't drop. It keeps incrementing up until the number reaches the maximum number that can fit in the binary field, then it resets to zero and start incrementing up again. Knock count means nothing. All you need to look at is knock retard. It you aren't getting any, IGNORE the knock count.

The S term fuel counts were going in the red. I don't remember the number. But I could log another run if you wouldn't mind looking at it.
The "red" shading that DataMaster puts on certain data fields is somewhat "arbitrary". They are just calling your attention to the data. Doesn't necessarily mean that its a problem. I don't even like using the DataMaster ".uni" file.... I can get a lot more info out of the DataMaster .csv file, and an Excel routine that I have developed for reviewing files.

Would a new egr take care of this? I never changed it because you have to pull the intake.
A functioning EGR system might eliminate knock retard when you are lugging the engine. Why do you have to pull the intake to replace the EGR valve. All you need is a 1/2" wrench and a mirror..... seriously... who told you to pull the intake"? I've removed mine with the intake in place.

The funny thing is, it's been disabled for years and I've been running regular gas for about a year and a half. This problem didn't show up till this summer. I noticed the exhaust didn't sound the same and it has this funny bog. I figured it was an 02 sensor going bad again.
Your saying that running 87-octane never produced knock retard before?

Alright, I guess I'll change the egr and see what happens.
