runs faster with maf disconnected?

runs faster with maf disconnected?

i just swapped in an lt1 from a 96 caprice into my 94 camaro z28, does anyone know why the car runs faster with the maf disconnected?

Does it run at all with the maf disconnected?? I though it wouldn't

It sure does, it just runs without it. It uses other information to determine the fuel and air to use. I forget the term for running in this condition, either closed loop or open loop. I mix them up. Point is, it will run without it but it is better to have the MAF working.

If the PCM does not detect the MAF it will rely on speed density.
